Braintree Town Council approves donation for annual Beautification Day

The Braintree Town Council convened on June 3, 2025, at 7:30 PM for a meeting that focused on several key agenda items, including the approval of donations and the management of new business matters.

The meeting commenced with a unanimous vote to approve Order 25,021, which included recommendations from the Planning Board. Following this, the council moved into new business, where a request for same-night action on Order 25038 was presented. No objections were raised, allowing the council to proceed.

Chris Griffin from the Braintree Recreation Department addressed the council, expressing gratitude for a generous donation from Sustainable Braintree. This donation supported the town's annual Beautification Day, held on May 3. Griffin highlighted the importance of community involvement, noting that the event could not have succeeded without the support of Sustainable Braintree, which contributed both financially and through volunteer efforts.

The council then voted unanimously to accept a monetary gift of $150 from Sustainable Braintree for the Beautification Day initiative.

As the meeting progressed, a motion was made to refer all remaining items under new business to their respective committees. This motion also passed unanimously, concluding the meeting efficiently.

The council expressed appreciation for the coverage provided by BCAM and acknowledged the contributions of members involved in the meeting's organization. The next meeting is scheduled for June 17, coinciding with Bunker Hill Day.
