Chamber announces Garage to Grade event for small businesses in October

The Santaquin City Council held its regular meeting on June 3, 2025, focusing on initiatives to support local businesses and community engagement. One of the key topics discussed was the upcoming "Garage to Grade" event, scheduled for October. This initiative aims to assist small and home-based businesses in their growth by providing resources and networking opportunities. Attendees will pay a $25 fee, which can be offset by a discount on chamber membership, making it an accessible option for local entrepreneurs.

In addition to the business initiative, the council highlighted the success of the "Passport to Summer" program, which has seen high participation rates in both Santaquin and Payson. The program includes a pool party event planned for August 9, further encouraging community involvement.

The council also recognized the "Business of the Month," which was awarded to the Parlor Luxury Salon in Payson. The salon, under new ownership since July 2023, has thrived despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to its loyal customer base. The salon offers a wide range of services and is located on Main Street in Payson.

The meeting concluded without public comments, as no residents signed up to speak during the public forum. The council expressed enthusiasm for upcoming events and initiatives aimed at fostering local business growth and community spirit.
