John Trequato urges proper sewage disposal in Bullhead City's Rotary Park

As the sun rises over Bullhead City, the vibrant Rotary Park comes alive, inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy its expansive outdoor offerings. During a recent city council work session, officials highlighted the park's impressive amenities, which include six softball fields, a baseball field, a football field, and eight lighted pickleball courts. With over 300 acres of space, Rotary Park stands as Bullhead City's premier outdoor sports destination, hosting numerous tournaments and recreational leagues throughout the year. The park's facilities are complemented by a mile of free public beaches, perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing, making it a year-round attraction.

However, the meeting also served as a reminder of the importance of responsible waste disposal. John Trequato from the Wastewater Division urged residents to be mindful of what goes down the sewer system. He emphasized that only human waste, toilet paper, and gray water should be flushed, warning that improper disposal of items like wipes and plastic can lead to costly sewer backups. Such incidents not only strain city resources but also impact taxpayers, with repair costs potentially reaching thousands of dollars.

In addition to waste management discussions, the council addressed solid waste collection services provided by Republic Services. With residential recycling now discontinued, residents are reminded that both blue and green carts are designated for trash. The city offers six bulky item pickups per year, ensuring that larger waste items can be managed effectively.
