Baldwin Park hosts fifth annual mental health awareness event with run and vendor fair

Baldwin Park's fifth annual mental health awareness event, held on May 17 at Morgan Park, successfully brought together the community to promote mental health resources and support. The event featured a one-mile run, walk, and bike ride, along with a vibrant vendor fair showcasing around 20 booths dedicated to mental health services.

The day kicked off with an opening ceremony at 9 AM, where local organizations, community members, and Baldwin Park High School students participated. The high school band added to the festive atmosphere by performing at the start and finish lines. Each participant in the walk received a medal, encouraging family involvement and community spirit.

A highlight of the event was the presence of the LA County Fire Department, which displayed a large Garrison flag, a tradition that has become a staple of the annual gathering. The event also featured live entertainment, including a band that played from 10 AM to noon, and a kids' zone with games and arts and crafts organized by the recreation department.
