San Francisco Workforce Development Board secures $482K for construction apprenticeship training

Machinist Career College, another repeat contractor, secured $848,750 to train around 350 workers across Southern California. The San Francisco Workforce Development Board also received approval for $482,300 to train 65 pre-apprentice new hires in construction trades, with a notable placement success rate of over 80% into registered apprenticeship programs. In the agricultural sector, Coast King Packing LLC was awarded $589,680 to train approximately 390 workers, while Mann Packing Company received $193,104 for training 149 workers. The meeting concluded with a proposal from Butte Glen Community College District, which sought to amend its existing contract to focus on union-supported occupations in response to recent fire emergencies.
