Downtown Guadalupe residents advocate for parking permit solutions at city meeting

After assessing the downtown parking lot's viability, Krause emphasized that Leroy Park offers better accessibility and growth potential for the market, which aims to operate every Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM. She requested information on potential fees for using the park, advocating for minimal costs to encourage community participation.

The commission members expressed support for the market's goals, suggesting they would recommend to the city council that fees be waived to foster community involvement. Krause also noted plans to accept EBT and market match programs, aiming to make fresh produce accessible to all economic levels. The meeting concluded with a commitment to further discussions on the farmers market's logistics and the ongoing parking concerns, highlighting the commission's focus on enhancing community resources and addressing resident needs.
