Board members approve agenda changes ahead of Hackett Elementary students' pledge

The School Board of Wisconsin held a meeting on June 3, 2025, where members discussed several key agenda items and made important decisions regarding the district's operations. All board members were present except for Tom Hankins.

The meeting began with a request to approve the agenda, which included several changes. Notably, items 7c, 5b, 5c, and 5d were removed on the advice of the administration. Additionally, the order of the consent agenda and board action items was switched to accommodate guests before inclement weather arrived. The motion to approve these changes was made by Megan Miller and seconded by Amy Levy, passing unanimously.

Principal McReynolds from Hackett Elementary introduced two fourth graders, Sayana and Jaleah, who led the Pledge of Allegiance, highlighting their close friendship and involvement in the school's dual language program.

In the board president's report, a clarification was made regarding a previous statement about the CESA 6 invoice for the superintendent evaluation, which was initially reported as over $19,000. The president acknowledged an error in understanding the invoice, explaining that the fee for service portion, approximately $18,000, included software for evaluating district educators. The president thanked Mrs. Schoep for her assistance in clarifying this matter.

The meeting underscored the board's commitment to transparency and effective communication, as well as their focus on ensuring a supportive environment for students and staff.
