Freehold Township honors Missus Holmes for 35 years of dedicated teaching service

The Freehold Township Board of Education held a meeting on June 3, 2025, where they honored Missus Arlene Holmes for her remarkable 35-year career in early childhood education. Missus Holmes has dedicated 12 years as a pre-kindergarten teacher at Sunshine Schoolhouse and spent 23 years in the Freehold Township School District.

During her tenure, she has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to students, particularly those with disabilities, providing them with care, support, and love. Her expertise in behavior management and social-emotional development earned her the title of Support Staff of the Year at the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC).

In addition to her teaching role, Missus Holmes has demonstrated leadership through her involvement in various committees, including the FTEA executive board and the ECLC crisis team, where she focused on the safety and well-being of both staff and students. Colleagues described her as a creative force in the classroom, known for her artistic flair and compassionate presence.

As she prepares for retirement, Missus Holmes looks forward to spending more time with her family and exploring new adventures. The Board of Education expressed their gratitude for her years of service and extended their best wishes for her future endeavors.
