Barcelo and Eisenhower Middle Schools Celebrate Track Team Achievements

The Freehold Township Board of Education meeting held on June 3, 2025, celebrated the achievements of local middle school athletes, highlighting the strong performance of both Barcelo and Eisenhower Middle Schools in track and field competitions.

The meeting opened with a heartfelt recognition of the Barcelo Middle School boys track and field team, who excelled at the Shore Intermediate track and field all-star meet. Coaches praised the athletes for their hard work and dedication throughout the season. Notably, Landon Valentine set a new school record in the 800 meters, clocking in at 2:03, which ranks him among the top competitors in New Jersey. Other standout athletes included Dylan Moore, who placed second in high jump, and Grayson Brunelli, who made significant contributions to the team’s success.

Following the boys' recognition, the meeting shifted focus to the Barcelo Middle School girls track and field team. Head coach Mrs. West shared inspiring stories of teamwork and resilience, particularly in light of the loss of their previous coach. The girls demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and dedication, culminating in an undefeated season and a division championship. Newcomers like Olivia Ramirez made a significant impact, setting records in sprinting events.
