Longmont Mayor designates June 2025 as LGBTQ Plus Bridal Month

Longmont, Colorado, is set to celebrate inclusivity and diversity as the City Council officially proclaimed June 2025 as LGBTQ Plus Bridal Month. This declaration, made during the council's regular session, highlights the importance of recognizing the contributions of the LGBTQ community to the cultural, civic, and economic fabric of Longmont.

The proclamation acknowledges June as LGBTQ Pride Month, commemorating the historic Stonewall uprising of 1969, a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ rights. Mayor Joan Peck emphasized the significance of visibility, advocacy, and education in fostering a community where all individuals can live free from discrimination.

In conjunction with this celebration, the Longmont Bridal Festival on June 7, 2025, will provide a platform for LGBTQ community members to come together, celebrate their identities, and promote equality. Community member Martie Moore, who has witnessed the city's growth in support for LGBTQ individuals since 1997, expressed gratitude for the progress made over the years.
