Siobhan named valedictorian of Stratford High School class of 2025

The Stratford Board of Education held its 2025 Awards Presentation on June 3, 2025, recognizing the achievements of outstanding students within the Stratford School District. The event highlighted the accomplishments of various individuals, with a particular focus on Siobhan, a remarkable student who has demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and community service.

Siobhan has been an active member of the Girls in STEM Club for four years, currently serving as secretary. Her involvement extends to the basketball team, where she participated for two years, and she is a key contributor to the annual writing staff, showcasing her creative talents and leadership skills. Additionally, she is a member of the Book Club and the Women's Empowerment Club.

Beyond her school activities, Siobhan has dedicated her time to volunteering at the Stratford Public Library, where she has facilitated read-aloud programs and educational events for young children. She has also contributed to the Stratford Recreation Department as a basketball camp volunteer and assisted at the Booth Memorial Park and Museum.

Academically, Siobhan has excelled, completing 15 honors and 8 advanced placement courses, achieving a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.55, and ranking second in her class. Her proficiency in the humanities is notable, as evidenced by her perfect score of 5 on the English Language and Composition AP exam. Siobhan's accolades include the College Board AP Scholar with honors, the Yale Book Award, and the Frank Scott Bonnell Overall Academic Achievement Award, among others.

Siobhan's commitment to scholarship, intellectual curiosity, and civic engagement exemplifies the best qualities of Stratford's youth. She plans to attend the University of Maryland College Park in the fall, where she intends to double major in anthropology and English, with aspirations of earning a PhD.
