Norwalk proclaims June 2025 as men's health month to promote well-being

Norwalk has officially declared June as Men's Health Month, a move aimed at encouraging men and boys in the community to prioritize their health and well-being. During the city council meeting on June 3, 2025, Mayor Tony Ayala highlighted the importance of this initiative, which aligns with the city's ongoing efforts to promote mental, emotional, and physical health among its residents.

The proclamation emphasizes the significance of early detection and healthy lifestyle choices, particularly for young men aged 15 to 25. This demographic is the focus of the city's Men's Support Group, launched in October 2024 by Frank Ceballos and Miguel Ochoa. The group provides a safe space for young men to seek help, share experiences, and reflect on self-care and friendships built on trust.

Mayor Ayala expressed gratitude to the social services team for their commitment to this program, which aims to foster accountability and self-improvement through peer support.
