West Bend celebrates Music on Main's 20th anniversary with record attendance

During the recent BID Board meeting held on June 3, 2025, in West Bend, Wisconsin, community leaders celebrated the successful kickoff of the twentieth anniversary of the "Music on Main" event, which has become a hallmark of downtown West Bend. The event attracted approximately 5,500 attendees, a notable increase from last year's attendance of around 5,000. This growth reflects the community's enthusiasm and support for local cultural activities.

The meeting highlighted the collaborative efforts that made the event possible, including contributions from local sponsors such as Westbury Bank and Pharmacal. The Downtown West Bend Association initially planned to purchase a gazebo for the event, but thanks to discussions with local stakeholders, funding was secured through TRS Property Management and Murphy and Procter. Signage will be displayed to acknowledge these sponsors, further enhancing community engagement.

In addition to "Music on Main," the meeting addressed other summer events, including the recently launched farmer's market, which began on May 17. Organizers reported positive attendance, even on rainy days, and noted improvements in vendor stall visibility thanks to city support.

Looking ahead, the city is preparing for the inaugural Global Fest at the end of June, which will showcase over 30 nations through performances, food, and artisan crafts. This new festival aims to attract visitors from outside the community and promote West Bend as a welcoming destination.

The meeting also outlined a busy summer schedule for entertainment, including a series of concerts and comedy events, with notable performances from artists like Jim Messina and Charlie Behrens. These events are designed to foster community spirit and provide diverse entertainment options throughout the summer months.
