North Ridgeville City Council discusses resident concerns and community growth initiatives

Residents of North Ridgeville voiced their concerns during the City Council meeting on June 2, 2025, with a focus on local development issues and city growth. Alan Friedner, a local resident, raised a pressing issue regarding the height of a hill at Madonna Supply, questioning whether it exceeds permitted limits and expressing concerns about noise. He urged the council to investigate the matter, highlighting a lack of communication from the building department after his previous inquiry.

In response, Mayor Kevin Corcoran assured Friedner that the issue is currently under review by the law department, indicating that the council is taking the matter seriously.

The meeting also showcased the city’s rapid growth, with Mayor Corcoran emphasizing North Ridgeville's appeal due to its quality of life, low tax rates, and robust public services. He noted that the city has been recognized as the thirteenth safest in Ohio, attributing this to significant investments in safety infrastructure, including a new police station and updated emergency response capabilities.

The mayor outlined ongoing initiatives aimed at managing growth, such as the Ridgeville Ready Master Plan, which focuses on updating zoning regulations and improving infrastructure to support economic development. He also mentioned the water meter replacement project currently underway, which aims to enhance city services.
