Tomball ISD celebrates retirement of 38 educators with 932 years of collective service

The Tomball Independent School District (Tomball ISD) held a workshop board meeting on June 4, 2025, where significant discussions centered around the retirement of 38 employees, who collectively contributed 562 years to the district and 932 years to the field of education.

The meeting commenced with a recognition ceremony for the retiring staff members, with 21 of them present to receive accolades. Each retiree was invited to the front to shake hands with board members and participate in a photo opportunity with district leaders, Dr. Z and Dr. Pratt.

Among the retirees, Rosemarie Bory, a bilingual diagnostician, was honored for her 26 years of service in the Tomball community. She plans to relocate to Spain and travel the world while remaining connected to the student support team during visits to the U.S. Jennifer Adams, director of science and robotics, shared her plans to travel and start a crochet business after 19 years in education.

Other notable retirements included Jackie Deroscher, a social studies teacher with 25 years of service, who will return to Michigan to support her family, and Rebecca Devlin, an executive administrative assistant, who recently got engaged and plans to travel extensively.

The meeting also highlighted retirements from various departments, including special services, curriculum instruction, and operations. Each retiree expressed their future plans, which ranged from spending time with family and traveling to pursuing personal interests like crafting and consulting.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt thank you from the district, acknowledging the retirees' dedication to educating and mentoring students.
