City begins Park Boulevard waterline upgrades using innovative pipe bursting methods

The government meeting on June 4, 2025, provided important updates on two waterline projects along Park Boulevard in Plano, Texas. The discussions focused on the progress of these projects, which aim to enhance the water infrastructure in the area while minimizing disruptions to traffic.

Phase 1 of the project involves crews boring and connecting fire hydrant leads at Stained Glass Drive. They are currently excavating a waterline for pavement replacement from Coit Road to Independence Drive, and then continuing east from Custer Road to US 75. The work is primarily utilizing minimally invasive pipe bursting methods, which are designed to reduce traffic impacts. This phase is expected to be completed by October.

Phase 2 includes the installation of a fire hydrant between Ridgewood Drive and Los Rios Boulevard, along with the replacement of the waterline crossing at Republic Drive. Construction crews are also preparing for pavement replacement between Los Rios and Archerwood Street, again employing the pipe bursting method to limit disruption.

These projects are significant for improving local water services and ensuring safety through updated fire hydrant access. The community can expect continued progress with minimal inconvenience as the work advances.
