Baldwin Park cheer team celebrated for winning Sharp State Championship

Under the warm glow of Baldwin Park's city hall, a spirited celebration unfolded as the Baldwin Park Council honored the local cheer team from Saint John the Baptist School. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as council members and community members gathered to recognize the achievements of these young athletes, who recently earned the title of Sharp State Champions.

Council member Gina Ayala, a proud alumna of Saint John the Baptist, took the lead in presenting certificates to the cheerleaders. "We need to celebrate you guys," she exclaimed, highlighting the team's journey that began last July. Their hard work and dedication paid off as they consistently excelled in various competitions, including a remarkable performance at the WCC camp competition at UC Santa Barbara, where they clinched first place and won the Showstopper Award.

They secured third place at the Baldwin Park parade, followed by a grand championship win at the Sharp competition held at Sierra Vista High School. Their success didn't stop there; they also triumphed at the CYO competition and earned a paid bid to compete in Las Vegas.
