Cape Coral City Council appoints Michael Van Houten to affordable housing advisory committee

The Cape Coral City Council meeting on June 4, 2025, focused primarily on the appointment of a new member to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AIAC). Following their introductions, the council voted on the candidates. The results showed a slight preference for Van Houten, who received four votes compared to Reyes's three. Council members expressed appreciation for both candidates, emphasizing the difficulty of the decision and encouraging Reyes to continue seeking future opportunities within the city.
