Dundee Road construction prompts concerns over road debris and tire damage

The Village of Wheeling Board Meeting held on June 2, 2025, addressed several key issues, including ongoing construction on Dundee Road and various resolutions concerning village operations.

Trustee Eufado inquired about the procedure for residents who experience flat tires due to construction-related issues. Mr. Kaup advised that residents should contact the police non-emergency number, which would direct their concerns to the on-call public works personnel.

The meeting then transitioned to the consent agenda, which included several resolutions for routine village operations. These included the purchase of new breathing apparatuses, computers, and consulting services for a bike path project, as well as a contract extension for fuel purchases. The board unanimously approved all items on the consent agenda.

In new business, the board reviewed an ordinance granting site plan and building appearance approval for a new administrative building for the Northwest Mosquito Abatement District at 147 West Hintz Road. The plan commission had previously recommended approval with three conditions related to landscaping and future installations. The board moved forward with the approval, ensuring that the necessary conditions would be met.
