Hialeah prepares residents for hurricane season with emergency kits and preparedness tips

The City of Hialeah has officially announced the start of the 2025 hurricane season, emphasizing its preparedness and urging residents to take necessary precautions. During a recent government meeting, officials highlighted the readiness of local emergency services, including firefighters and police, to respond effectively during storms.

City representatives stressed the importance of personal preparedness, encouraging residents not to wait until the last minute to gather supplies. They advised having a clear evacuation plan and knowing essential items to have on hand, such as water, medicine, food, gasoline, and generators. For those with special needs, the city reminded residents to contact county services by calling 311 for assistance.

Officials reassured the community that Hialeah has been actively working throughout the year to maintain drainage systems and address any concerns related to storm readiness. They emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency for at least 72 hours following a hurricane.
