Cerritos Recreation Division honors Esteban Alvarez and Ashley Carrera as Employees of the Month

The Orange County Parks and Recreation Commission celebrated the achievements of two outstanding employees during their meeting on June 5, 2025. Esteban Alvarez and Ashley Carrera were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the community in April, highlighting the dedication and quality of service provided by the recreation services division.

Esteban Alvarez, honored for his work at the Cerritos Ironwood 9 Golf Course, played a crucial role in several youth golf programs. His commitment to youth development was evident during the spring break golf clinic and tournament, where his positive and patient approach helped young golfers build essential skills while enjoying the sport. Additionally, Esteban has taken on a mentorship role, guiding new staff and fostering a strong work ethic within the team.

Ashley Carrera received accolades for her exemplary service at the Cerritos Sports Complex. Her dedication to customer service ensured a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Ashley also successfully organized a soccer program for children aged 5 to 13, leveraging her background in youth sports to provide high-quality instruction and a structured experience for young athletes. Her enthusiasm for teamwork and community engagement has inspired both participants and colleagues alike.
