The team triumphed over DeSoto High School with a score of 39 to 27, marking a significant milestone for the school.
Additionally, Josh Ogg, a teacher from Martin High School, was recognized as the 2025 Fort Worth Area Air and Space Teacher of the Year. This accolade comes with a $500 award, which Ogg plans to invest in the Martin Aeronautical Rocketry Society, supporting students in their participation in the American Rocketry Challenge.
The meeting also celebrated Beckham Elementary School, which received a $5,000 grant from the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation and Medical City Healthcare for being named the Fitness All-Star School of the Year. The funds will be utilized to enhance physical education resources, particularly for special education students.
Trustees discussed the success of the recent Father Fest event, which attracted over a thousand attendees and featured the district's first classic car show. This annual tradition, organized by the family and community engagement team, continues to strengthen community ties.
Lastly, the board acknowledged the achievements of four Destination Imagination teams from Butler, Corey, and Gunn elementary schools, who represented Arlington ISD at the Global Finals in Kansas City.
