Scott's Miracle Gro expands Temecula operations as local manufacturing thrives

The 2025 Temecula State of the City Address, delivered by Mayor Brenden Kalfus, highlighted the city's robust economic growth and commitment to fostering a thriving business environment. Mayor Kalfus noted that Temecula has become a desirable location for CEOs and business owners, leading to a notable increase in manufacturing activities. A key example is Scott's Miracle Gro, which recently expanded its urban garden operations by 10,000 square feet. Additionally, the new MS Mountain View Park, featuring 17 buildings and nearly 500,000 square feet of light manufacturing space, is nearing completion, with nearly all units sold or leased before construction finished. This reflects the strong market demand for business space in Temecula.

The manufacturing sector is a vital part of Temecula's economy, employing over 7,000 people across 50 companies. These businesses produce essential products used globally, reinforcing the city's reputation as a hub for innovation and quality, branded as "Made in Temecula."

Several local manufacturers shared their success stories during the address. Warren Lee, director of operations at Milgard Windows and Doors, highlighted the company's long-standing presence in Temecula and its commitment to community outreach, including significant donations and volunteer efforts. Milgard plans to increase its capacity and revenue by over 25% this year and aims to double its plant capacity in the next five years.

Shanna Murphy, chief relationship officer at Acclimor, discussed the company's focus on water filtration products, emphasizing its commitment to manufacturing in the U.S. and its involvement in addressing wildfire-related water safety issues. Acclimor has been a part of the Temecula community since 2004 and is dedicated to driving technological advancements in water safety.

The address concluded with a call for ongoing education to support the growth of local businesses, reinforcing Temecula's commitment to fostering a sustainable and innovative economic landscape.
