Indianapolis City-County Council recognizes Sacred Heart Church's 150th Jubilee celebration

The church's rich history, marked by its unique architectural contributions and community service, was celebrated as it prepares for a jubilee celebration on September 20, 2025. Councilor Jones, who sponsored the resolution, emphasized the church's enduring impact on local culture and community spirit.

In another highlight, the DPW received accolades for its engineering excellence, including multiple awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana. The council recognized the department's innovative projects, such as the Broad Ripple Avenue improvements and the Emerson Avenue Corridor, which have significantly enhanced public infrastructure. Nathan Sheets, deputy director of engineering, expressed gratitude for the recognition, noting the dedication of the DPW team in maintaining the city's infrastructure.
