Superintendent Kathy Parker Jones announced the hiring of Lauren Devine as the new curriculum coordinator for literacy and humanities, effective August 1. Devine, who has spent the past nine years as a K-12 district instructional coach in Marysville, will replace Gina Seaman, who is returning to her role as principal at Bailey Elementary. Additionally, Tara Uhlinger was introduced as the new community outreach specialist, filling the position previously held by Keyburn Grady. Uhlinger comes from a background as a content manager at Ology and was welcomed enthusiastically by the board.

Two leaves of absence were requested for the next school year, requiring board approval.
On the classified staff agenda, five resignations and one retirement were noted, with Gracie Mace retiring after 12 years as a transportation special education bus aide. The board approved nine new hires, mainly for summer school and substitute positions.
The meeting concluded with a recommendation from the superintendent to approve the personnel items discussed. The motion was moved by Mrs. DeSilva and seconded by Mrs. Gillis, passing unanimously with a 5-0 vote.
Looking ahead, the board noted that the reading of the primary and secondary handbooks is scheduled for the next meeting, with anticipated action to follow. The next meeting will take place on a Thursday to accommodate the finance department's schedule for closing out the fiscal year and preparing the budget for the upcoming year.
