Baldwin School District celebrated the remarkable contributions of several retiring staff members during the Board Meeting on June 11, 2025. The meeting highlighted the dedication and impact of these individuals on the community, marking a significant moment of appreciation for their years of service.
Among those honored was Mr. Scott Peretz, who dedicated 39 years to public education, including 26 years as a technology teacher at Baldwin High School. His commitment to excellence in education was evident through his support of student productions and his role in teaching essential skills in woodworking and carpentry. The Board expressed deep gratitude for his contributions, noting that his presence will be greatly missed.
The meeting also recognized other retirees, including Mark Mosey, who served as a lunch monitor for 25 years at Lenox Elementary School. His consistent support and supervision during lunchtime created a positive environment for students, earning him the appreciation of the Board and the school community.
Laura Kelly, a teacher aide for 20 years, was acknowledged for her dedication to supporting students with disabilities, while Andrew Nadian, a music teacher since 1994, was celebrated for fostering a love of music among students across multiple elementary schools. His efforts have left a lasting legacy in the district's music program.
Additionally, Susan Stein, a lunch monitor at Steele Elementary for 16 years, and Mary Ertle, an informational technology aide since 1999, were both recognized for their unwavering commitment to student well-being and technological support, respectively. Ertle's contributions were particularly noted during the transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Board of Education and District Administration expressed heartfelt thanks to all retirees for their exceptional service, wishing them happy and fulfilling retirements. This meeting not only honored the past but also reinforced the community's commitment to quality education and support for its students.
