Northwell County proposes six new electric vehicle charging stations with level 2 superchargers

The Norfolk County Commissioners meeting on June 11, 2025, focused on the proposal for the installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the county. The meeting featured a presentation by Nick Lari from EFSC Solutions, who provided updates on the project and introduced a new charging model.

Lari explained that the proposal includes the installation of charging stations at six key locations: the county golf course, Stoughton District Court, the area behind the Registry of Deeds, the Agricultural High School, and Brookline District Court. The charging stations will utilize a new type of charger referred to as a "level 2 supercharger," which is designed to charge vehicles in approximately half the time of standard level 2 chargers.

The commissioners expressed satisfaction with the revised proposals, which were developed following previous discussions and input from the county's electrician. Lari emphasized the advantages of the level 2 superchargers, noting that they are particularly suitable for locations where users may spend a couple of hours, such as at court. He highlighted that these chargers would allow users to charge their vehicles efficiently while they attend to their business.

The meeting concluded with a positive outlook on the project, as the commissioners recognized the potential benefits of the new charging technology and its alignment with the county's goals for sustainability and accessibility.
