Recognition Ceremony Honors Educators at Betrayal Middle School for Tenure Milestones

The Penfield School District held a heartfelt ceremony on June 13, 2025, to honor the dedication and service of its staff members during the 2025 Student Art Showcase and Staff Recognition Ceremony. The event celebrated educators reaching significant tenure milestones, highlighting their commitment to the community and the impact they have made on students' lives.

Among those recognized were several staff members achieving 15, 20, and 25 years of service. Notable attendees included Jennifer Layton from Scribner Road and Tracy Savine, who joined the stage to acknowledge the contributions of Betrayal Middle School. The ceremony also honored Jean Marie Carroll, Zachary O'Neil, and Danielle Santoro, who were present to receive accolades for their years of service.

The event featured a special recognition for those celebrating their 15-year benchmark, including Sarah Baskins, Brian Conway, Kathleen Conway, Mary Ann Formusa, Michelle Landon Bowen, and Matthew Vaccarela. The 20-year milestone was celebrated for Rachel Brousi, Brian Garza, and Catherine Varley, with Nicole Roberts also recognized despite her absence.

The highlight of the evening was the acknowledgment of staff members reaching the 25-year mark, including Phyllis Blake, John Giotto, Kim Gerard, Sue Medas, and Judith Zorno, all of whom have played a vital role in shaping the educational landscape of the district.
