Oceanside High School student government reflects on accomplishments and introduces new officers

The Oceanside Board of Education held its regular meeting on June 11, 2025, where student representatives from Oceanside High School (OHS) and Oceanside Middle School (OMS) presented a summary of their recent activities and accomplishments. This meeting highlighted the vibrant engagement of students in various extracurricular activities and the importance of community support in fostering a positive educational environment.

OHS student government representatives, led by outgoing president Dennis Ojovaya, shared a recap of the school year, celebrating significant events such as the completion of Advanced Placement (AP) testing, successful spring concerts, and various award ceremonies. Ojovaya expressed pride in the achievements of his peers, including the induction of new members into honor societies and the recognition of seniors during the annual honor night. He emphasized the importance of community involvement, thanking local members for their support in providing scholarships and resources for students.

The student government also announced the results of their recent elections, introducing the incoming officers: Brian Raluska as president, Macy Broner as secretary, and Jeremiah McDowell as treasurer. OMS representatives presented their initiatives under the "Sources of Strength" program, which focuses on mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
