CCSD celebrates Aspiring Leaders Academy graduates enhancing educational leadership

The CCSD Work Session and Board Meeting held on June 12, 2025, focused on recognizing the achievements of educators within the district, particularly those who completed the CCSD Aspiring Leaders Academy. This program, in partnership with the Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement (GLISI), aims to enhance leadership skills among educators, ultimately benefiting student achievement and professional growth.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that the Aspiring Leaders Academy is part of the district's commitment to optimizing talent, one of its three anchor priorities. The program provides participants with essential tools and resources, allowing them to connect with school and district leaders while engaging in practical leadership opportunities. This initiative is designed to create a pipeline of strong leaders prepared to contribute to the district's success.

Fifteen educators were recognized for completing the year-long program, showcasing their leadership stories and reflecting on their personal growth during the capstone presentations. The cohort members also identified areas of need in their schools, which will serve as focal points for their long-term projects.

The following educators were honored for their achievements: Jacob Bartu, Kimber Booker, Sofia Campbell, Desiline Culver, Alexandra Edwards, Patrick Ennis, Tammy Gamber, Danielle Harris, Connor Naughton, Anna Slocum, Cameron Strange, Corey Tarbert, Shontay Thompson, Carla Williams, and Chris Woodward. Their participation in the Aspiring Leaders Academy exemplifies the district's dedication to fostering leadership and improving educational outcomes.

The meeting underscored the importance of developing leadership within the district, as these efforts are expected to have a lasting impact on both educators and students alike.
