Diana Zapeta praises $105K funding for Santa Clara cultural corridors and business support

The County of Santa Clara Board of Supervisors held a budget hearing on June 12, 2025, where community leaders expressed gratitude for recent funding initiatives aimed at enhancing local cultural and business corridors.

Diana Zapeta, assistant project manager for Community Strong Strategies, highlighted the significance of a $105,000 investment championed by Supervisor Young and Peter Estanil. This funding is designated to activate key areas such as Gallia Willow, Tule Road, Story Road, East Village, Japantown, and Alum Rock. Zapeta emphasized that this investment will not only improve public spaces but also support community events, including the Story Road Moon Festival and FIFA 2026 watch parties, benefiting over 3,000 local businesses.

Additionally, Zapeta acknowledged the contributions of Supervisors Arenas and Lee for their support of other business associations, reinforcing the collaborative effort to strengthen the local economy and community engagement.

The meeting underscored the Board's commitment to fostering economic growth and cultural vibrancy in Santa Clara County through strategic funding and community partnerships.
