Mount Olive High School drama club celebrates successful season and announces future shows

The Mount Olive Township School District celebrated a successful year for its drama program during the Board of Education meeting on June 9, 2025. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of the drama club, Broadway Nights, which has achieved remarkable accolades throughout the year, including multiple awards at various festivals and competitions.

Jody Bosch, the club's advisor, received enthusiastic applause as she shared the club's accomplishments, which included producing popular shows like "The Prom," "Grease," and "The Lion King." The drama program not only entertained but also provided scholarships to eight students, showcasing its commitment to supporting young talent.

The club's achievements were impressive, with 24 nominations and wins across five drama festivals. Notable awards included the "Most Energetic Cast" for "Grease" and several individual accolades for students, such as Emmy Bosch and Lincoln Vara, who received recognition for their performances. The program also excelled at the Morris County Teen Arts Festival and the Bergen Pack High School Musical Awards, further solidifying its reputation in the community.

In addition to the drama program, the meeting highlighted the longstanding success of the district's robotics program, which has been in place for 28 years. The program, led by Don Burry, continues to thrive, engaging students from kindergarten through 12th grade in STEM education.

As the meeting concluded, the excitement for the upcoming season was palpable, with announcements of future productions, including "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday." The community's support for the arts and education remains strong, reflecting the district's commitment to fostering creativity and innovation among its students.
