Garden Grove Council honors Pacifica High School dance team for national championship success

The Garden Grove City Council celebrated the remarkable achievements of the Pacifica High School dance team during their recent meeting, recognizing the team for their historic success in the 2024-2025 season. The council presented certificates to the team and their coaches, Bridal Belton and Jessica Gultra, in honor of their outstanding performance at the 2025 USA Dance Nationals, where they secured three national championship titles—more than any previous team in a single season.

Since 2009, the Pacifica dance team has been a formidable presence in both local and national competitions, amassing a total of 15 national titles. This year, they excelled in the intermediate small dance, intermediate small lyrical, and intermediate medium dance palm divisions, while also achieving a commendable sixth place in the competitive intermediate medium hip hop division. These accomplishments highlight the team's dedication, as they train rigorously and perform at various school events throughout the year.

The coaches emphasized the growth of the dancers not only as performers but also as leaders and collaborators, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. The recognition from the city council was further supported by remarks from G.G. USD board trustee Terry Rocco, who expressed pride in the team's legacy and the commitment required to achieve such success.
