Freeville High Gospel Concert Festival features Fred Hammond and Dominique Heroshear

Middlesex County is set to host a series of community-focused events aimed at enhancing public engagement and safety. On Saturday, June 28, the Freeville High Gospel Concert Festival will take place at Monument Square from 2 PM to 6 PM, featuring award-winning artists Fred Hammond and Dominique Heroshear, alongside emerging vocal talents. This event promises to be a vibrant celebration of music and community spirit.

In addition to the concert, the Office of Business Engagement is organizing a job fair on Wednesday, June 25, designed to connect job seekers with opportunities in the rapidly evolving life sciences sector. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and adaptability among participants, ensuring they are well-prepared for the industry's demands.

On Thursday, June 26, Middlesex College will host a Vendor Connections Expo from 10 AM to 1 PM. This event will allow attendees to explore training programs offered by eligible providers, facilitating connections between clients and caseworkers to discuss various training pathways.

The county is also prioritizing public safety with a "Dig or Shred" event on Saturday, June 7, at Spotswood High School. From 9 AM to noon, residents can safely dispose of sensitive paper documents free of charge, helping to protect personal information and identities.

In recognition of excellence in law enforcement, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Chikomi was honored as Prosecutor of the Year by the New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association. The Prosecutor's Office also received the New Jersey Attorney General Initiative Award for its innovative ARRIDE program, which integrates law enforcement with mental health professionals to address critical public safety issues.

Lastly, the county is gearing up for its annual Moses County PSA event, where students will create educational content on the dangers of distracted and reckless driving. This initiative aims to raise awareness during prom and graduation season, emphasizing the importance of safe driving practices among young people.
