West Windsor Plainsboro honors 49 retirees and appoints new High School South principal

The West Windsor-Plainsboro Board of Education meeting on June 12, 2025, celebrated significant milestones, including the retirement of 49 educators who collectively served the district for over 1,200 years. Superintendent Dr. Eyerl expressed gratitude to the HR team for organizing a heartfelt send-off for the retirees and recognized the district's Teachers of the Year, one from each of the ten schools.

In a pivotal moment, the board appointed Valerie Rodriguez as the new principal of High School South. Rodriguez, who has served as the assistant principal for the past three years and has 14 years of teaching experience at Princeton High School, was recommended for the position following Jessica Cicada's promotion to assistant superintendent for pupil services and planning. The board unanimously approved the motion to appoint Rodriguez, marking a significant leadership transition at the school.

Additionally, the meeting acknowledged the retirement of Dawn Pintamali, a dedicated teacher resource specialist, after 26 years of service. The board's discussions also included a special public hearing on the acceptable use policy for computer networks, led by Director of Technology Peter James, although technical difficulties delayed the presentation.
