Enterprise City Schools beta club earns national recognition and prepares for national conference

The Enterprise City Board of Education held a special meeting on June 12, 2025, focusing on student achievements and upcoming events. The meeting began with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the approval of the amended agenda.

A significant highlight of the evening was the recognition of students involved in the Beta Club. Parker Horn from Hillcrest Elementary and Trevor Rowan from Dauphin Junior High were acknowledged for their leadership roles, with both students preparing to run for national office at an upcoming conference in Orlando. Their achievements were celebrated with applause from attendees.

Michelle Watkins, a Beta sponsor from Rucker Boulevard Elementary, spoke on behalf of the Beta Club, detailing the district's recent accomplishments. Enterprise City Schools earned the National Beta District of Distinction, a prestigious recognition awarded to districts demonstrating excellence in academics, leadership, and service. Watkins noted that 364 students participated in the state convention, resulting in 131 awards for the district, and highlighted the opportunities Beta provides for students in various fields.

Trevor Rowan, the Alabama Junior Beta President, addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of leadership and community service. He encouraged support for his campaign for national president, promoting values of achievement, character, service, and leadership.

The meeting also included an annual audit presentation by Tyler Denaway, which followed the student recognitions. The board expressed gratitude for the hard work of students, sponsors, and parents, underscoring the community's commitment to educational excellence.
