Shawnee Mission School District students excel at SkillsUSA and National PTA competition

The Shawnee Mission School District Board Meeting on June 9, 2025, highlighted significant achievements by students across various disciplines, showcasing their talents in both academics and athletics.

One of the most notable discussions centered on the success of students at the State Skills USA competition. Gabe Gast, a senior from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, earned a gold medal in Cabinetry. Other students from Shawnee Mission South and North High Schools also excelled in culinary arts, restaurant service, and baking, with multiple students earning placements in their respective categories.
