Apple Valley Council approves new liquor license for Spice Village LLC restaurant

The Apple Valley City Council convened on June 11, 2025, to address several key agenda items, including community awards, upcoming events, and a new business license.

Four individuals were recognized for their heroic actions: Logan Widgren for life-saving efforts at LA Fitness, Jeffrey Finkelstein for providing critical care at a motorcycle accident, Steven Hillback for alerting homeowners to a fire, and Dr. Gary Allen for developing a crisis intervention training program for police officers. Each recipient received a certificate of appreciation, underscoring the community's commitment to recognizing acts of bravery and service.

The council then moved on to discuss the upcoming Apple Valley Freedom Days celebration. The meeting concluded with a public hearing regarding an on-sale wine and malt liquor license for Spice Village LLC, a new Indian restaurant and grocery store set to open in the former TCF space. The council approved the license after confirming that all necessary background checks were completed. The restaurant aims to serve a diverse menu catering to both the Indian and broader community, with plans for a grand opening in July.
