Principal Melanie Commander reflects on education growth at Rivermont Elementary School

Her achievements, including a state championship and multiple hall of fame inductions, highlighted her dedication to both sports and education. “Coach Nelson exemplifies the very best that Hamilton County Schools has to offer,” a board member remarked, acknowledging her impact on young athletes both on and off the field.

As the meeting progressed, the board also bid farewell to David McNish, a long-serving member of the Hamilton County Schools team, who is retiring after years of dedicated service. His contributions, particularly in technology support, were celebrated by colleagues who expressed gratitude for his unwavering assistance and commitment to the school community.
