Houston Parks hosts Family Fun Day at Garden Villas Park with activities for all ages

Family Fun Day at Garden Villas Park brought joy and excitement to the historic community, celebrating its rich legacy since 1926. Attendees enjoyed a perfect day under the shade of a majestic live oak tree, likely planted nearly a century ago, as families gathered to watch their children participate in various activities.

The event highlighted the Astros Nike RBI program, offering free spring baseball and softball for boys and girls. Coaches shared their experiences, noting the challenges and joys of guiding young athletes. "It almost felt it was gonna be traumatic," one coach admitted, but praised the kids for making the experience rewarding.

Beyond the baseball diamond, the park buzzed with activities including soccer drills, basketball, fishing, and ceremonies from local Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
