Mount Mansfield Union High School honors Indira Bush and Abigail Pecuri with citizenship award

Mount Mansfield Union High School celebrated its 48th Commencement Ceremony on June 14, 2025, honoring the achievements of the Class of 2025. Principal Weston opened the event by recognizing the recipients of the prestigious citizenship award, Indira Bush and Abigail Pecuri, for their exemplary service and leadership throughout their high school years.

The ceremony acknowledged the presence of 188 graduates out of a total of 202, with heartfelt recognition given to Cody Hope and Peltier, a classmate unable to attend due to recovery from a serious car accident. The audience was encouraged to send their well wishes to Cody via live stream, highlighting the community's support during challenging times.

Superintendent Dr. John Alberghini, who is retiring after 23 years of dedicated service, was honored for his leadership and commitment to the school district. His farewell marked a significant moment in the ceremony, as he is recognized as the longest-serving superintendent in Vermont.

The event emphasized both reflection on past accomplishments and anticipation for future endeavors. Dr. Alberghini encouraged graduates to embrace new perspectives and remain open to learning as they embark on their next chapters.

As the ceremony progressed, the awarding of diplomas commenced, with school counselors Chris Adams, Kristen Barker, Sammie Ruffinoff, and Zach Falls participating in the presentation. Graduates were celebrated individually, marking a joyful conclusion to their high school journey.
