Maui County Office on Aging updates four year plan for elderly services

Maui County's Office on Aging has unveiled its updated four-year area plan, aimed at enhancing services for older adults and their caregivers from October 2023 to September 2027. This strategic framework is essential for securing state and federal funding under the Older Americans Act, which supports vital services such as daycare, home-delivered meals, and personal care assistance.

During a recent committee meeting, Rowena Dagda Gandaya, the county executive on aging, emphasized the plan's focus on addressing the evolving needs of the community's seniors. The plan is rooted in values of sustainability and resilience, symbolized by the ulu tree, which represents nourishment and care for one another—a fitting metaphor for the support the plan aims to provide.
