Cortland announces summer events schedule including splash pad and parade details

During the recent City Council meeting in Cortland, Ohio, several community updates and events were discussed, highlighting the city's ongoing efforts to engage residents and enhance local services.

One of the key announcements was the operational hours for the splash pad, which is now open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM. Residents can activate the splash pad by touching an orange post located on the facility. This addition aims to provide a recreational outlet for families during the summer months.

The council also addressed mosquito fogging, scheduled for June 18, with a full schedule available on the city’s website. This initiative is part of the city's efforts to maintain public health and comfort during the warmer season.

In observance of Juneteenth, city administration offices will be closed on Thursday, reopening on Friday. This closure is part of the city's recognition of the holiday, which celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Furthermore, the council reminded residents that solicitors and pedaloes must possess a city permit and adhere to permitted hours from 10 AM to 7 PM, excluding Sundays and holidays. Residents can opt to be placed on a "do not solicit" list by contacting city hall.
