STL Care seeks zoning change for new office on Saint Louis Avenue

A significant step forward for St. Louis's urban development was taken during the Housing, Urban Development, and Zoning Committee meeting on June 17, 2025. The committee unanimously approved Board Bill Number 4, which will change the zoning designation for a key area on Saint Louis Avenue. This change will transition the zoning from multifamily and neighborhood commercial to a local commercial and office district, paving the way for new development by STL Care.

Auto Woman Taish expressed enthusiasm for the project, highlighting STL Care's existing building across the street and their plans for further developments in the neighborhood. The committee's favorable recommendation was swiftly passed with a vote of 7-0, signaling strong support for the initiative.

In addition to this zoning change, Alderman Aldridge introduced Board Bill Number 19, aimed at revitalizing the long-vacant Jefferson Arms Building. Alderman Aldridge noted the project's progress and the anticipated opening in the coming months. Nick Hartzler, a senior project manager for Steadfast City, was brought in to discuss the establishment of a Special Improvement District (SID) for the project, emphasizing the benefits it would bring to the area.
