United Rentals expands service capacity in Auburn with new regional distribution site

Auburn City Council has approved a new distribution yard for portable sanitation units, enhancing service capabilities for local construction sites and events. During the June 17, 2025, meeting, council members discussed the operational details of the facility, which will be managed by United Rentals from El Dorado, Arkansas.

The distribution yard will primarily serve commercial businesses and construction sites in the Auburn area, providing essential equipment such as porta potties and ADA-compliant trailers. The facility is designed to accommodate varying demand, with the potential to house up to 100 units at peak times. Council members emphasized that the site will not conduct on-site cleaning; instead, units will be cleaned off-site to ensure they are odor-free and ready for use.

The council also addressed concerns about the visibility of the storage area from nearby parks and recreation facilities. To mitigate any potential visual impact, ornamental fencing may be installed to provide additional screening. The council is committed to being a good neighbor and ensuring that the facility operates smoothly without disrupting the community.
