Montgomery County Council honors Weed Warriors for ecological contributions

Montgomery County Council recognized the invaluable contributions of the Weed Warriors during its recent session, highlighting the critical role these volunteers play in preserving local ecosystems. The proclamation, presented by Council Member Glass, celebrated the efforts of over 500 certified Weed Warriors who dedicate their time to managing invasive plant species across more than 37,000 acres of parkland in the county.

Council Member Glass expressed gratitude for the volunteers, noting their commitment to maintaining the health of native plants and wildlife in the region. The proclamation noted that Weed Warriors have collectively contributed over 147,000 hours to preserving local parks, a testament to their dedication and the camaraderie built among residents.
