Mount Vernon appoints Robert D. Curtin as provisional deputy fire chief

Captain Curtin, a Mount Vernon native and 1988 high school graduate, has already passed the deputy chief's exam and is currently at the top of the eligibility list for the position. The need for leadership is pressing, as the fire department must effectively manage its four operational groups.
