West Covina secures federal funding for new Fire Station 1 with Congressman Cisneros' help

The Palm View Park Community Center, which reopened in June 2023 as an adaptive recreational facility, held its annual open house on June 11. This event showcased programs and activities, including original poetry shared by participants. The Cortez Park Community and Senior Center celebrated Father's Day on June 13, with over 180 seniors attending a festive event featuring music and dancing, sponsored by the Police Officers Association of West Covina.

Looking ahead, the city announced the start of its summer concert series, beginning the following evening, and the Fourth of July celebration at the West Covina Sports Complex, set for July 4 from 5 PM to 9:30 PM.

Following the city manager's presentation, the council moved to the consent calendar, where several items were discussed. Council members pulled items for further discussion, including numbers 3, 6, and 10. A motion was made to approve the consent calendar, excluding the pulled items, which passed unanimously with a vote of five to zero.
