Chester County hosts Juneteenth celebrations and upcoming mini golf event

During the Borough Council Voting Session held on June 18, 2025, in West Chester, significant discussions highlighted community engagement and cultural awareness. The meeting underscored the importance of Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Borough officials encouraged residents to participate in local events celebrating this historic occasion.

The council announced a theatrical reenactment of Juneteenth scheduled for 1:00 PM at the Chester County History Center. This event aims to educate attendees about the historical significance of Juneteenth, fostering a deeper understanding of American history. Residents were invited not only to attend the reenactment but also to join a town meeting later in the day, which will include a communal meal at 4:30 PM.

In addition to the Juneteenth celebrations, the council promoted a mini-golf event set for June 30, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in downtown West Chester, specifically on Gay Street.
