Development Council announces Listo RGV Conference focusing on regional recovery

The San Benito Commission meeting on June 17, 2025, highlighted the upcoming Listo RGV Conference, a key event focused on regional recovery from disasters. The conference, scheduled for September 24-26, aims to address the challenges of recovery following incidents like the March floods and the ongoing impacts of COVID-19.

The event, previously known as the Ready RGB Conference, will bring together city officials, law enforcement, emergency services, and volunteers to enhance preparedness and resource sharing. The conference will take place at the Margaritaville Hotel and Resort on South Padre Island and will offer continuing education credits in behavioral health.

The organizer emphasized the importance of recovery, noting that while the region is adept at responding to emergencies, the recovery phase requires significant time and resources. The conference is designed to facilitate networking and collaboration among various stakeholders involved in disaster response and recovery.

Registration for the conference is currently set at $100 per person, which the organizer hopes to make free in the future. Non-profit organizations can host tables at no charge, while for-profit institutions will incur a fee of $200. The meeting concluded with an invitation for questions, but none were raised by the attendees.
